If you send us a device that is still signed into an iCloud or Google account, our certified technicians cannot bypass this security to perform a data wipe. The responsibility for removing these accounts rests entirely with you before shipping the device.

For devices that arrive unlocked and ready for processing, every unit goes through a certified data wiping procedure. This is not just a simple factory reset from the settings menu. We utilize industry-standard methods to ensure all personal data is completely and permanently erased, making it unrecoverable.
Once wiped, these devices are refurbished by our certified technicians to extend their lifespan, positively impacting the secondary market both in the USA and globally.
What Happens to Locked Devices?
If a device arrives with an MDM (Mobile Device Management) or iCloud lock that cannot be removed, it cannot be refurbished for reuse. However, it still has environmental value. We harvest these locked devices for usable parts to further aid the environment and reduce electronic waste.
To guarantee your data remains secure even on locked devices, the motherboards (which house the storage memory) of such devices are physically shredded in-house. This ensures that no data can ever be extracted from a locked device we process.
